How can u strengthen ur application?

Hi folks! I wanted to know how can an international dentist strengthen his/her application coz most of the international dentists have nothing except for their BDS degree and few months of experience in their native place/country?Iheard something about paper publications which helps in some cases but dont know exactly what it is and how to go about it esp when u r a foreign trained dentist.

Are you talking about applying to a residency program? A few things I can think of:
- high board scores
- memberships of the international or US organizations(for example, IADR, ADA, ADEA, etc)
- your activities involved with any ADA-accredited schools. It can be a year of clinical rotation, short-term teaching assistance, research fellowship, etc. This way you can get some references or letters of recommendations from the professors in the US schools (very important!)
- research publications and/or abstracts, oral/poster presentation at the IADR/AADR annual session or any other meetings that are relevant to your area of interest.
