How choose schools to avoid rejection due to yield protection?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I would not make assumptions. I don't think yield protection is as widespread as many seem to think at least based on stats alone. If there's a school that she genuinely feels she is a good fit for with regards to academic and extracurricular opportunities, mission, location, etc, she should apply.

@cj_cregg thanks I will ask her to keep the schools she really likes.

She applied all by herself during the 2024 cycle in her senior year but is now at home and reapplying. I will show her your post and ask her not to make me do it again!
She needs to stand up for herself. Perhaps the reason why she wasn't successful previously was her inability to seek help, especially from experts here.
