What kind of board scores would you need for the COMLEX and USMLE? Is it ok to just score average to below average? Also Im a below average student, is it possible to just "get by" med school with no ECs and land a pmr residency not in the middle of nowhere?

If you’re a below average DO student who puts no work into getting residency...I can just about guarantee you won’t match. However, if you do put in the work...I’d say that you have at least a fair chance of matching. I’d try hard to get COMLEX scores over 500...and that’s to match into any program. You should be looking at getting over 600 at more competitive programs. Not to say that it’s impossible to match if you don’t...but without the ECs or work experience, programs just may not have many good reasons to rank you high.
