Hey guys, haven't logged in in a really long time, but looking to get some feedback from people who have been in a similar situation.
I'm a PGY2 IM resident at a recognizable name program in the northeast, and I really want to land a hospitalist job in the bay area or bay area adjacent. It's where I grew up. I've been moving around the country chasing this dream and after residency I'm ready to come home. However, I know the bay area is crazy competitive for doctors and there are a lot of residency programs in the area, so I imagine a lot of new doctors are probably looking for jobs every year.

So, how have you guys been successful? Did you reach out to HR at these hospitals? Use a head hunter? Ask your PD for connections? When did you start looking? How did you make yourself stand out?
Thanks guys!
