How do diuretics cause reduced ammonia excretion?

Hey,

FA 2017 states that diuretics cause reduced ammonia removal. How is this accomplished? Diuretics cause hypovolemia with concomitant increase in ammonia concentration, but this does not increase the actual quantity of ammonia.
