Hi everyone,

I am Canadian student. I applied to a couple of American schools. I am wondering how to calculate my GPA for AMCAS. Do I include summer courses in the cGPA? Also, in the science GPA do I include math?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Anything taken at a post-secondary institution is included in AMCAS. It takes A+'s as A's, so it goes like this A+/A = 4.0, A- 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0 and so on. AB's are 3.5 and BC's are 2.5.

The basic classification is this: BCPM (biology, chemistry, physics, math, and stats) and AO (all others.) Borderline classes may swing either way depending on how you appoint it and the opinion of the person reviewing your app.

https://www.aamc.org/students/download/182162/data/amcas_instruction_manual.pdf

Click the link to the AMCAS intruction manual. The very last page shows which classes are included in your science GPA, (BCMP)

Also the GPA calculations are in there somewhere
