How do I request a letter of recommendation for an SMP/Post-bacc?

I'm a bit confused on what exactly I should ask my recommender. The vast majority of these programs say that they "accept letters written for medical school," so do I just request a letter for medical school? For anyone that has applied to an SMP, I'd appreciate some input on how you went about this
