how do i shadow

I really would like to get some clinical experience/shadowing but i don't know where to start or ask... i currently volunteer at a rehabilitation center working with patients of traumatic brain injury but I would really like to observe surgery at a hospital or shadow a surgeon, whats the process of getting involved in shadowing/clinical exp?

Tell the docs over there that you are applying to medical school in X years and ask them if they would mind if you shadowed them for some of their more interesting cases? Almost all docs will say yes.
