People of SDN,

I have done a 1 year practicum at a hospital, but part of my coursework for my master's degree. This hospital work I feel is very important for my application, but since it is technically a class, I did not include it in my activities. I made the class/internship the meat of my PS and I have been trying my best to put info in to secondaries. Since this is my centerpiece of hospital experience I am concerned as it is not in my activities section. So my questions are:

Do schools screen based on these hours within the activities section?
How can I best let them know how important this time is for me otherwise?

Too bad you didn't include it as an experience. You can list things that you did as part of a class or for a grade in the experience section. People do it all the time for research, band and choir, field placements, etc.

What's done is done. Good luck!

If there a way to tell schools in a helpful way. "Hey here is there new stuff i have completed" since my app i will be completing my masters in the next couple weeks and finishing my biochem class?

You can provide an update to your file at any time. It may be obvious from the application that the masters degree was to be awarded on 8/1/18 or whatever. It might be reasonable to update your file in early September by sending an email with a pdf attachment that lists your name, your AMCAS number and the information you want added to your file. It will be uploaded into your application as a letter.

Very interesting! And when you say send the pdf you mean to each individual school correct?

Thank you so much for the info btw..
