how do u feel when your specialist scolded at u...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Being a student is all about making mistakes. I make them all the time - the main thing is to make sure you learn from them.

As for emotions, take a deep breath and polietly ask for constructive feedback and move on.

Don't let it get the best of you, b/c they have a say in your evaluations. Some attendings get on a power-trip over that fact, but the best bet in terms of good evaluations is to pretend it didn't happen.

If you show them up, you may feel good for 10 minutes, not worth it.

No crying here.

Are you crying? Are you crying? ARE YOU CRYING? There's no crying! THERE'S NO CRYING IN MEDICINE! No crying!

I hope that English is not your first language.

I'm on a service with a witch of an attending. She isn't very pleasant and moreover, doesn't like students very much (although she's a fantastic teacher). She has reamed me incessantly since the rotation started just 3 days ago. But I honestly find humor in it (when she's not looking). Just don't even take any of this personally. If they ream you, that's their personality---they'd ream any of your peers at that moment as well if they were standing in your place. Some attendings/residents are always happy-go-lucky and pleasant, some are always the opposite. Who gives a ****. The rotation ends relatively soon no matter how nasty your higher ups are. Take it in stride, never take it personally, and go home and watch some baseball.

what's wrong with my English?

Well, since you asked...

how do u feel when your specialist scolded at u...

1) "How" should be capitalized, since it is the first word in a sentence -- although I use the word "sentence" loosely here.
2) The second person pronoun is spelled "you", not "u".
3) You used two different tenses.
4) "You" should be the direct object of the verb "scolded"; one does not scold "at" somebody.
5) This sentence should end with a question mark, not an ellipsis.

how u guys dealt with emotions when being scolded by specialist for silly
mistakes...

6) See number 1.
7) See number 2.
8) Use "How did you guys deal with" rather than "How you guys dealt with".
9) Not sure if "when being scolded" is actually grammatically incorrect, but it seems a bit awkward here.
10) Use the indefinite article "a" before "specialist".
11) You probably didn't mean "specialist", unless they are particularly cruel when they scold you.
12) See number 5.

intolerable..huh!

13) I'm not sure what you're trying to do here. Maybe this should be "Intolerable, huh?"

i run back crying..isk..isk..isk "

14) See number 1. In addition, the first person pronoun "I" is always capitalized, regardless of where it is used.
15) Use "ran", not "run", since you're using the past tense here.
16) To the best of my knowledge, a double period is not a meaningful punctuation mark in English. Try to cut back and use one at a time.
17) I don't think "isk" is an English word. I assume it's a sort of foreign onomatopoeia.

Glad I could help. And yes, apparently they don't give us enough to do in the first week.

Wow, just think of all the biochem you could have learned instead of writing that analysis!

Yeah, but think of all the biochem he didn't have to study because of that analysis. The glass is half full.

How insightful a first year medical student is to the woes of 3rd and 4th year students. Seriously, before Biochem spanks you, go get a life.

Eh, it was a dumb question; answered with a moderately funny answer although maybe a little overboard. I don't think you need to be a 3rd/4th year medical student to answer a question about how it feels when a superior takes a dump on you. Unless 1st/2nd year med students have never had a job or been a part of an organization with superiors, or had parents, etc.

Eh, it was a dumb question .

maybe it was dumb.🙁.yeah you're right. dont need to be a 3rd/4th year medical student to answer that... its just an expression of unresolved emotions..just something to share.
