Coz my major is Biomedical engineering, so is the grade of my engineering courses also considered into my science GPA? Or it just means grade of"bio1&2+chem1&2+phy1&2+Orgo+math1"?

got so confused..

dunno about engineering courses, but many of my psych listed biopsych and stats courses were counted for my AMCAS science GPA. hope that helps!

Under the "help" section of the AMCAS application, engineering courses are not factored into the BCPM (or "science") gpa.

Non-science courses include everything else that is not bio, physics, chem, or math.

:sigh: isn't ALL engineering a bunch of stupid math? argh.... 🙁

I think schools make the ultimate determination when it comes to engineeriung classes. AMCAS doesn't seem to care either way. Use the course titles of your classes to determine what genre they fall under (biology, chemistry, math, or physics). If you plan on classifying some of your BME courses as BCPM, dont just pick the ones which will help your science gpa... pick all of them, or none of them

True, engr=non-science.

But . . .
for example, engr statistics=math=BCPM if you designate it & appears a reasonable fit

Really, you could count your psychobio classes in your science GPA? I have psychobio and advanced psychobio but they are definately listed in the psychology dept...These are really countable in my sci GPA?

I'm not familiar with psycobio ?? but I kind of picked and choosed which classification for some classes based on the grade received to help boost my BCPM and stand out. Like machine dynamics is really a physics class, but since I made a C, it fell to non-science. An A could have been designated BCPM.

Most of my engr classes were non-science.

engineering courses are neither science nor non-science

so engineering course are actually nons cience course. u mean something similar to histoty, economy and etc? that is just absurd!

Life is so much easier in the UK...

It's either science or arts - nothing else (humanities are arts, engineering is science)

yes, for me my intro biopsych classes listed under the psych dept were classfied under my BCPM courses. this was also the same with grad psych classes in neuroanatomy

do you have to specify ALL science courses? cause i got hit hard in a couple upper-level math/physics classes when i was still an engineering major (before switching to premed...) i'd really rather not have those classes count in my science GPA....
