How do you find out details about the programs....

I was just wondering what i should do. Is the Green Book enough info or should I write to all the programs I am interested in and ask for program info? What is the way to go here? Please help. Any other ideas?

Here's what I basically used:

ACGME: http://www.acgme.org/adspublic/
this site, scutwork, the individual department's web pages, the residents/attendings/residency director/dept chairman opinions at your school

I personally didn't do the whole 'write the individual programs route to request info' but I know people who did. Probably overkill in my humble opinion, but who knows. At the very least, it will let the residency coordinator see your name one more time(don't underestimate the input of the coordinator and other office staff when it comes to programs making their rank list). The above sources supplied me with more than enough info
