I thought it would be fun to post your plans on the big day. Are you going to call your school or wait for the program's phone call? Personally, I'll be driving down to my school's meded office- they suppose to have the verdict by 8:00 am PT.

On match day, I called the admin office at 8:00 AM sharp.

At my school, we all meet at the dean's office at 8:30ET where they present us with envelopes containing our match during a little "party".

If only there were a pill I could take to allow me to sleep until friday....At least there's football today! Go Browns....draft's in a few months!

I hear you on the sleep until Friday thing. Personally, I think one of my friends played it smart she took off to India for a month. No worries there. At my school they just page us in the morning. Rumor has it that the med schools get the list the evening before. Can anyone else confirm or refute this?

Anyway, I will be doing pelvic exams all week so hey consider yourself lucky!!!😱

Before I get flamed...Don't get me wrong the pathology of Gyn onc is interesting and obviously very important but it is not exactly my favorite way to spend an afternoon.

Anyone having a little "buyer's remorse" on their rank list?

Good luck to you all!!!! This board was fun. Never figured out who Icewoman was...darn!

You are correct. I talked to a rep at SfMatch who said the results are actually faxed to the programs and med schools Thursday night after the "end of the day" so that they will be there when everyone arrives the next day.

Btw, it seems most who go into ophtho enjoy obgyn the least of all. I was asked this multiple times on the trail and invariably the interviewer laughed and said "me too". Remember to keep your thumb to the side when you do a pelvic and not vertically, as a friend of mine discovered.....

6:30 am- that's great! I am thinking to drive down to my school on Thu and wait for meded office lady to come out so we have a little chat:laugh: Do you guys think it'll work?

I thought my 6 weeks of OB was really fun - catchin' babies, alot of OR time - thrill a minute. However, if I had to do even one more day of it to graduate, I'd be flippin' burgers now. Felt the same about several other rotations, too. 😉

Let's just say my post-match plans involve a pony keg and a pub crawl later that night- most of my class should be participating.

I plan on consuming many, many beverages of the alcoholic variety. If I don't match, well, it will get even uglier.
