I think @Law2Doc means putting ADDITIONAL tape along the top of the adhesive strip already in place. Double protection.

Some hospitals do not provide the masks with the tape (I have no idea why), so you really need to have technique of taping along the nose.

then i rip off the inferior ties to keep the bottom of the mask loose - I then do some big exhales to make sure there is no fog.

At that point there's not much point in wearing a mask at all...

Oh I know that, but do we really need to cut back on surgical masks lol. The tape doesn't do it for me!!

Because the sticky tape is really annoying. The mask isn't flapping in the breeze, its no different to tying the bottom ties loosely around your neck - ive also got a secret to tell you but you can't tell anyone, tying the mask around your face doesn't make a perfect seal...

Many cases are multiple hours and you may have more to pay attention to than your mouth, so this isn't very realistic.
