How does a B+ in Chemistry I & Chemistry lab (first sem. only) look to top 10 schools If everything else on my app is great.

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I failed a course and got a C+ in Chem 1.

Relax.

grades aren't everything. A+ is not a thing. But let's do a fun little math exercise here.

The average number of credits for a bachelor's degree is 120. Let's assume you get As for the rest of your classes until you graduate. That means 116 credits at a 4.0 and 4 credits at 3.0. That gives you a GPA of 3.97....

Relax

So, an uphill trend certainly speaks well. But, I'm worried about other applicants who have damn near perfect academic stats. How on earth am I suppose to compete with them If I earned a B in CHEM 1 & lab during my first semester when they (I assume) earned A pluses?
Shows that you're human.
