Hey everyone,

I was wondering how early can I get LORs? I'm not applying to PT school until Fall '14, but I already have a possible LOR from my A&P Professor. Can I give her the form now, or do I have to wait for when I compile my application on PTCAS next fall? Thanks everyone!

I would say you would have to wait till the next round of PTCAS. I wouldn't know where you would put the LOR if you are not applying for PT school now.

I asked my professor early (Dec 2012) and told him when I needed it. I explained the whole process (writing a letter and then receiving an email with a small questionnaire where he would copy and paste the letter). Some professors like to write it right away when you are fresh in their minds. My professor talked about my presentation and group dynamics. The professor will just hold on to that file.

But at the minimum, I would just give the professor a heads up so you know they are willing to write you a letter. If anything, they will just ask you to ask them later on.
