Seeing that a lot of PT schools are admissions on a rolling basis, how early would you guys think early is? I'm planning on taking the GRE in mid-July, but I would like to maximize my time to study for the exam, so I'm considering pushing it to August.

What do you guys think?
Also, side question, how soon after taking the GRE can I submit the application? I am aware that the testing site gives you a rough score. Do I need to wait for my writing portion to be graded to submit the app?

I always see this happening with my friends in that they always postpone their GRE in order to study a bit more. I would suggest taking the GRE in mid july still. It's only june right now and I think more than 4 weeks is more than enough time to study for it.

I think there are special circumstances which you can submit and then update the writing portion of your test later when you receive it if I recall correctly!

Cool! Thank you for replying.
I'm just super confused on the timeline from after taking the GRE to submitting my application.

I can't submit until my official GRE score came out right?

No problem!! It's actually been about 3 years for me but from what I remember (which hopefully is correct), your math and reading come out first and then your writing comes out afterwards. I do remember submitting my application and then just inputting the writing score afterwards when i received it.

I feel like there's something adjustable with what I said so hopefully someone can correct me🙂

IIRC you will also need to submit your scores via ETS to the schools you're applying to. You can send your scores to a certain number of schools for free at the time you take the test, but the others you'll have to log back in to ETS to send (and pay an extra fee per school -- $27 I think). So, since you'll be sending the scores anyway, I don't think it's so important that you have your scores inputted into PTCAS before you submit your apps on PTCAS (though you should go back and update that section of PTCAS as soon as you can). Just make sure you're taking the test by the deadline for the programs you're applying to -- I think many of them have separate deadlines for the GRE and the rest of the application. Double check with each program's admissions contact if needed -- that's what they're there for. 🙂

You can submit your application with a pending test date for the GRE as long as you go back and update the scores in PTCAS and send your scores to the score via ETS.
