Everyone has their own opinion about what is early. Some applicants are planning to send thier AMCAS in on the 5th and some applicants have already sent out their AACOMAS. By the end of June is still relatively early.

i asked the dean of admissions for umich and he said they dont even download their apps till beginning of july. so late june is just fine.

keep in mind that from the time you hit "submit," it can take f o r e v e r for your application to get processed. maybe that transcript from that community college where you took one credit never made it to AMCAS. And no matter how dilligent you are, AMCAS will make corrections to your application. And you're competing for AMCAS' precious time with thousands of other go-getters who submitted on June 5th. I submitted on the first day last year and it probably took a month to work the kinks out. So early becomes not-so-early despite your best efforts. Good luck though ... Get it done in June and you'll be fine.

Basically just get that AMCAS in as early as you can, b/c it will take a long time to certify it. Have your list of schools ready to go and submit ASAP as well. If you are waiting for MCAT scores, submit as soon as you find out you got that 37. Don't let anyone tell you you are being neurotic or gunnerish for getting your AMCAS in early early early.

The bottom line here is that many schools have rolling admissions. What this means is that if you dally around and dont get your stuff in you might end up interviewing in March for the 70th spot on the WL.

WLs are certainly not the end of the world, I was on a few myself, but wouldn't you rather get a few Nov/Dec interviews and maybe be sitting on an acceptance come Jan?
