Hey guys,
I plan on taking the MCAT May 2016, and I had questions.

Over this summer, (May - September) I plan on starting to practice for VR, specifically by taking as many practice tests as I possibly can, which I heard is the best way to improve your score. I have a feeling that this is going to be a weak point for me, so I will try to get as much practice in as I can. The schedule won't be regimented, just doing practice passages and tests whenever I can.

Also, during winter break December 2015-January 2016, I am going to start content review, specifically for chemistry, physics, and biochem, just making sure that I remember and thoroughly understand the core concepts. During the Spring semester prior to the test I am taking Physics II, so I will be learning that material as I am studying for the MCAT. I may have to take English during the Spring semester too.

How does this sound to you guys, did you do anything similar?

*CARS, not VR anymore! (Not that there's really any difference between the two.)

Your content review schedule sounds good to me, but I'm not sure how I feel about starting verbal so early. I think it'd be more beneficial for you to just read a ****ton, honestly, and then start verbal over your winter break.

It is never too early. If you have extra time then why not? I would strongly suggest you don't take the AMCAS practice tests in order to study up for the VR. They are most helpful in gauging where you stand in overall preparation leading up to the MCAT. Get a berkeley review VR book, you could probably do okay with a kaplan VR book as long as you ignore their wasteful approach to doing VR.
