Anyone care to speculate on whether there's any point in filling out a DMU secondary at this stage in the game?

My primary app was placed on hold due to taking the MCAT in August and for some reason I didn't get the secondary till a few days ago. I've already been to a few interviews, so it's not like this is my only shot, but DMU sounds like a great school. However, I've already exercised my wallet plenty this season, so I'd just as soon save fifty bucks if there's really no chance. Damn August MCAT...

If it's specualtion you want, then I can do that...

A good friend of mine went to DMU but I decided not to pursue DMU a while ago, mainly because I didn't think that I could stand the weather for that many years. BUT, I got e-mail form them yesterday that said:

"The Des Moines University Admissions Office has received your supplemental application, but we have not received some or all of your letters of recommendation...Interview slots are filling up so please have your letters sent to the Admissions Office as soon as possible!"

I received the same e-mail one month ago. Take it as you will, but I'd say that you still have a chance to interview and be accepted if you have everything in really soon. I doubt that there are too many spots left, but there will still be some people that have acceptances at DMU that will decide to go elsewhere (even though the "self-proclaimed geniouses" at DMU will never understand why 🙂 ). If you really think that DMU might be the place for you, though, is fifty bucks really too much for something that could change the rest of your life?

I feel that any shot at DMU is worth the $50. You could call the admissions office and ask them about the available seats. They have been really helpful when I call. Good luck.

Seems like everyone is wanting to go to DMU this year because of their new building. Id say it will be hard to get an interview this late in the game, but you might as well try.

I would definitely pursue DMU. It is fantastic. You will regret it if you don't give it a shot. Good luck. 👍

DMU rocks!! Send everything in ASAP!

I second the rocking part 👍 . Why not call and find out, everyone is so nice there, I cannot see them not answering your question.
