For my 1st semester I took:

Cell Biology - 4 credits
Calculus 1 - 4 credits
General Chemistry - 4 credits
English 101 - 3 credits

--------------

2nd Semester:

Microbiology - 4 credits
Calculus 2 - 4 credits
General Chemistry - 4 credits
Communication 101 - 3 credits

------------

Also, is a 3.5 still good for my first semester.

where's intro to bio in there? a lot of schools won't take ap credit, just fyi.

Are you sure? My assumption was that dental school biology prerequisites starts with cell biology, not intro. Could you tell me where you found your information? This is a serious issue.

i took evolutionary biology and cell biology before micro... some schools are just different

Intro to bio and intro to cell bio is probably the same thing, or at least had very similar topics. But to OP, nice job w/ the 3.5. I wish I had the willpower to do so good in freshman year... Damn Halo 2

ohh, maybe. my school did intro bio I and II, "cell bio" was the class you could take after that.

For whatever it's worth, my bio 1 was cell parts and function, glycolysis, ETC, kreb's. bio 2 was organ systems and taxonomy.

My cell biology is exactly like AP Biology w/ the same book.
The into. to Biology is like environmental, animal behavior, and other broad aspects of Biology.

Cell Biology is only one semester long while intro. 1 and to 2 are a total of 2 semesters.

I would get this information confirmation by calling the school but they are closed till the second of January.

does that mean even with 3 labs you only have 15hrs of class time?
My first year was about 23 hours each semester and i only had 3 labs.

My school is the same way. You have intro I and II for bio majors and then cell bio and lab comes afterwards but you need those two intro bio courses before taking anything else. The 2 intro bio courses went through every discipline of biology in small short sections.

easy course load, only have three sciences. and communications? give me a break, slacker course.

course-load is fine, I did a double degree with math and biology so always had five classes 2 maths and 2-3 sciences, then every now and then threw in an extra course to get my gen eds done.

Most people do what you are doing, is a fine course-load and definitely manageable. would stick with it threw freshman year the add some extra courses on top of it. ANd definately some research courses, you can also add some grad courses as an upperclassmen if you arrange it with faculty.

But just do whats comfortable and dont overload yourself. your course-load will work fine and allow you to graduate on time and will be competitive for dental school if you do well.
