I graduated college already and I've only taken pre-calc. TWO schools that I am applying to require at least 1 year of math. I put on my AMCAS that I was going to take Calc I for this upcoming fall, but now I don't know if I can because I don't know if I'll have the money to register. So, If I wait until Spring semester to take the course, will this be bad? And should I notify the schools that I won't be taking the course this fall, or will they not care? THanks!

Most med. schools require 1 year of math consisting of Calc I & Stats OR Calc I and Calc II. I don't know if Pre-Calc would meet their requirements. You may want to check the websites of the med. schools you are applying to or give them a call about what math classes would meet their 1 year of math requirement.

Let me correct this post. Most schools require 1 year of math.

Now that being said for most schools stat + pre-calc will suffice. However what this poster was trying to say is that statistics + calculus will suffice the requirements for 99% of schools and as such is highly recommended.
