How is the CBSE for omfs curved?

It’s a brutal test for a dental student but if you want to do well and work hard you can. Most of the applicants who are getting several interviews are scoring 65+

True, but "65+" really should not be the goal at this stage. The CBSE has been implemented as a part of the application process for a while now and scores of matched applicants is trending up. A 65 does not correlate to a pass on the Step 1 anymore. 70 should be the minimum goal, especially for 6-year programs. That being said, people will match with scores in the 60s, but you'd be fighting an uphill battle in most circumstances. Aim for a 70. When I was interviewing a couple years ago most applicants I met on the trail were 70+.

I’ve seen people post that before and it’s bull****. The score you should shoot for is the highest one you’re capable of attaining. But plenty of applicants match with a score in the 60s, and a score ~65 is something you should not hesitate to apply with.
