I'm using the First Aid Step 2CS book practicing each case, and I'm having a hard time trying to grasp how the exam is graded - specifically the Diagnostic Workup section.
Is there a certain number of correct workups you need? And if you have ones that are not what they consider necessary, can you lose points? Also, for the top three diagnoses, is there a clear diagnosis that they are looking for? Or does any of the Additional Differential Diagnoses as the First Aid book has count?

If you're using the FA book, then you'll notice a pattern; commit the patterns to memory and sure it may even help to have the FA list of add'l differentials in mind for when you're in a pinch. For every pt, order basic tests. The exam does not necessarily expect a dead-on diagnosis, rather it seeks to have you ask appropriate questions to a patient, do the proper physical exam, and be able to verbalize your thought process in the way of listing positives and negatives for each differential.

That you get the correct diagnosis is less important than demonstrating your ability to think broadly and list the most likely possibilities.
