A few words of wisdom:
If you’d like help and input on something, give as many details as you can. If you ask a generalized question, you’re going to get a generalized answer. If you don’t feel like it applies to your situation, describe why.
You told this same message to
@gyngyn and myself, which essentially was a statement of “you’re wrong” and nothing more,.. This doesn’t accomplish anything if you want answers specific to your scenario.
Please, for the sake of your application and eventual career in medicine, accept that you might be wrong and verify the facts instead of doubling down.
Because I have time, I’ll give you all of the information that could reasonably be relevant to your situation.
1.) Early decision programs inherently have few applications. e.g. One program had 33 EDP applicants last year, which is pretty easy for ADCOMs to screen within a few days. This is compared with over 8000 for the regular cycle.
2.) Since you’ve stated it’s a Michigan school, I have to assume it’s either OUWB, Wayne State or Central Michigan. All three adhere to the AMCAS deadline of 1 August for their Early Decision Program applicants, which means that as long as your scores are posted by that date, your application will be considered. None of those programs indicate that they decide to interview by 8/1, and the earliest I can find is that CMU will let you know by 8/14 if they have decided not to interview you.
3.) If a program representative has told you that it won’t be a problem, then I’d go ahead and assume it won’t be a problem. They know their program and application dynamics quite well, and coming onto SDN and asking if they’re “bluffing” or “have the R ready from the jump” is tantamount to accusing them of outright lying to you. Not a good look.
Hope this helps.
