Thanks for your time. I have heard that affiliated Touro hospitals in Las Vegas are helping out with the Hep C outbreak. Does anyone know anything more on what is going on with this situation? I would appreciate it.

There are 40,000 people, most of whom are probably still in Nevada, who may have been infected with Hep or HIV during colonoscopies. And this will lead to X,000 more people being afraid their non-suspect injection of anything at all was done "wrong" as well. So that means there are 40,000+ more blood tests than usual to do for some seriously peeved people who are going to want to witness the unwrapping of every needle and syringe and vial, and give providers one hell of a hard time. I would not be surprised to find that Touro-NV is being asked to help with the increased workload and fearload.

You can find out more here: http://www.lasvegassun.com.

Of particular interest: Libya imprisoned some Belgian nun/nurses on death row for about 8 years after children were similarly infected in relief clinics during vaccinations.

Was there something in particular you wanted to know? Such as is this going to screw your future at Touro-NV? Hardly.

I would think it does not have a negative affect on Touro especially since there are no doctors who have graduated from there yet. Actually, it might increase the need of having Touro to help out. I was just wondering how they are handling the situation.

As a student here, we haven't had anything said to us about "helping" or anything like that. But I am in my pre-clinical years, so I don't know if the 3rd or 4th years are doing anything. All I know is that the school hasn't sent out a mass email or anything like that.

Thanks a lot. If you hear anything, please let me know.

I'm a fourth year. The whole Hep C thing isn't on our radar at all.

It's good to hear Touro isn't negatively affected. Hope all goes well.
Thanks
