how late is too late to apply?

I have already filled out pretty much my entire application with AADSAS including my personal statement, and my LOR's are already uploaded with them as well. I still have to take my DAT next month and the colleges I want to apply to have deadlines on December 1st mainly UF and Nova. I have a pretty decent GPA (3.7 and science 3.75) and hope to get a good DAT score because Ive been studying full time for about a month and plan to take it mid october. Predents states that they have already sent out interview letters to like 80 students so Im just nervous about turning in my application this late in the cylcle, just incase my DAT scores arent way up there.

I just dont want to turn in my application for this year and it get rejected because of the timing. I would rather still take the DAT next month and just apply for next year, because by the time my official DAT score makes it to AADSAS it will be mid novermber.
This forum has helped me so much with all aspects of my application, I really hope that I can get some help here.....

What do you guys think??

In my opinion, I would wait until the next cycle. You can focus on doing well on the DAT (and possibly retake if you aren't happy) without feeling rushed. If your DAT is next month, that would put your application being complete at the end of Oct to the middle of Nov, which means you would be really hard pressed to be considered for a pre-dec interview.

Plus it is expensive to apply, knowing that you would be applying 'late' you are competing for far fewer spots. Good luck!👍

Honestly, I think it would be best to apply next year. By the time you submit, get verified, take DAT, receive DAT, mail DAT it will probably be past November.

My advice to you would be this, go ahead and take the DAT and submit everything, but apply to only the main schools you are interested. Such as the ones you mentioned UF and Nova. You will be a late applicant and your chances are lower than if you applied in the summer.

This way you will not spend too much money on the application and if you do get in that would be great. But if not then you still have next cycle.

yea by the time you are finished with secondaries and they actually start reviewing your app, it will be well into november (probably close to december)

IMHO, I'd consider that late. I think it'd be better if you just took your time to study for the DAT and apply early next cycle.

I think you should apply. Just make sure that you get 20+ on DAT.
I agree with everyone here that you will be an late applicant but you never know. If you get 23+ on DAT, you will beat almost every early applicant and get the late interview spots first. If I were the ADCOM, I would give an interview to the late applicant with 3.7 GPA and 21 DAT rather than to an early applicant with 3.3 GPA and 21 DAT. Do what you think is right for you. Would an applicant (in the OP's shoes) be better off submitting all other application material in the summer, even if the DAT was not going to be taken until October?

Thanks everyone for your advice.... I think I will go ahead and take the DAT in a few weeks when I feel completely ready but Im still not sure whether to apply this cycle or not.
I do believe that it will be a late application and pretty tough competition toward the end and I know that if I apply early next cycle I WILL get into the schools I want. Im just unsure that I will get in if I apply this late in the cycle. Also, if I do get rejected because of the competition there is not much that will chage in my application. My gpa would stay the same, I know ill do good on my DAT so that score will stay, my observation hours will remain then why would any admissions comittee that reject me this year consider me for next year. But sometimes I feel like my stats are good I'm sure there are more people that applied early and dont have a high enough gpa or a good dat score so I feel like I might have a shot...
Needless to say, Im still confused 🙁

Jokes aside, i think it is too late for this cycle because this year DAT reporting is done through AADSAS, on top of waiting 2-3 weeks for AADSAS to process your app, you will need to wait for DAT scores to be uploaded. Even if you submit now, your application won't be complete until late october or early november (at the earliest)
