here's a question: is there a significant number of people who do not get accepted to med school directly after earning a bachelors?
i've heard of people waiting like THREE WHOLE YEARS before getting accepted (might be an old wives tale but i heard it therefore its true unless proven otherwise).
and i heard that there are all of these rules that say how long you have to wait to apply again once you've already been rejected (what the squirrel???).
this is all so so complicated.

Mean age of incoming MS1 is 24. That probably has a HUGE standard deviation though. I personally wonder what the mode is.

Considering about 1/3 of the applicants do get accepted, that leaves 2/3 who are either going to do something else, or reapply. About reapplying, I think it's frowned upon to just reapply without having done something substantial to improve your application (though there are always anecdotal stories about someone who got in after doing nothing at all). Also, looking at the age stats can be misleading. Not all older people are reapplicants - many chose to apply after taking another path in life, or some people knew they wanted to apply, but took a few years to build and strengthen their application.
