I know this is the BIG question, and it's probably impossible to answer, but for those people who already have their interviews - how long was it from the time your files were complete before you were invited to interview at your schools?

Almost all my secondaries are done and the remaining few should go out this week, so I was just wondering ...

I think it really depends on the school you're applying to. My amcas app was complete on august 15th, and I got an interview offer from vandy on the 22nd (august). i was complete at UChicago on 12th of September and got interview offer on the 15th...

and there's UCSF from which I haven't even gotten a secondary... and it's been over a month. So it really depends on the school.

89,342,456,573,457.567843 seconds on average...

ok sorry...too much studying

But I do always wonder why people post questions like this on sdn...if you know it is "impossible" to answer...why even ask?

Perhaps if you posted the specific schools you were interested in you may get a better idea of their timetables as some schools may be quicker and/or have different procedures on processing applications.

Ok...must.... stop..... procrastinating.

Wow Kwanny, that's very fast !

I was wondering about this because some people seem to get invitations to interview really fast while I know that others don't hear until much later. I've never applied before and so I was curious about what I (we) should be prepared for.

Someone also said somewhere, that the really top score people tend to get the earliest interviews, while the rest of us are spaced out over the year.

Is it really true that there is just no way to predict? That's what I was wondering ...

correctamundo...no way to predict when or where you will get an interview invite despite high stats.

i had my app complete around July 16th (no letters yet)...heard back from Michigan in 2 weeks for an interview, but didn't hear from vandy until over a month after my amcas was transmitted. other schools, like dartmouth....once my app with letters was complete...heard back from them about 3 weeks later. I think that now that we are in the beginnings of the peak application period/transmission times, we will probably wait longer for feedback from the schools. Anyway, hope that helps!

Thanks guys, this is very helpful. I know I was begining to wonder and thought maybe other people might have the same question. With so many people getting all these interviews I was begining to feel like a wall flower at the ninth grade dance ... 🙂

I also got verified very late so I guess I just need to be patient and let it go ...

For me, the average was 3 weeks. Duke was super fast. It was almost as though they didn't even read my secondary. Call the school! I had to call USC for my interview status. Good luck! Gotta get back to studying for Cell and Developmental Bio.

Princeton rocks, have you been getting interviews without your committee letter/packet being in? As far as I know, Princeton HPA just finished sending out committee letters...and didn't start until the end of August. That's pretty impressive....

Where would you get that inaccurate information? They started them in July!!!!!!! I hope you're not suggesting that i'm lying? Why don't you drop me an email to see i really do attend princeton?

Wow, Ms. PrincetonRocks, chilllllll

Your defensiveness is making me think you don't attend Princeton 😀

Actually my information is not inaccurate. They sent out a massive email to a list of all the current applicants stating the approximate time letters would be sent out ...with the exception for four specific schools that don't like letters sent unless you specifically get a secondary. (That email went out at the end of July) I could forward it to you if you'd like...lol.

I was in no way suggesting you didn't go to princeton...and since i am an older graduate, I could quite easily challenge you if that was my intention. I don't have time for that. I was just wondering if you were getting interviews without the committee letter. That would suggest your other credentials were the bomb....

you might want to not be so defensive...especially if you really went to princeton...it only makes you sound suspect....

UF called with an invite the next business day. USF took 4 days. Haven't heard back from anyone else.
