How long does a school give you to accept an offer? Is it usually a decent amount of time? Such as a couple of months, or is it usually a week or two?

I'm curious about this because I have an interview SUPER early(August 5th) and If I get in, do I have enough time( if I happen to get other interviews) to have a chance to go to other schools to interview.

Can anyone help on this?

Depends. A lot of times it's different deadlines for when you get accepted. So like at KCU when I applied I was accepted quite early (october) and they gave me till december to drop the deposit for a seat. If you were accepted in January you were given two months and so on and so forth.

You would need to look up the school and determine what their protocol is. At worst, you would need to place a non-refundable deposit, but those can amount to hundreds/thousands of dollars if I recall correctly. If you place a deposit (to hold your spot), you are under no obligation to attend, but if you attend other interviews and receive an acceptance you would favor, you forfeit the deposit to your first school (and any thereafter) and still need to pay a deposit for your preferred school. Basically, with DO schools, you're kinda stuck with placing a deposit per the first school guideline and accepting the fact you may forfeit it if you get into a school you prefer. MD schools seem to have smaller deposits and they may even be refundable, so the tax on accumulating many acceptances isn't as high.

Page 21 has a list of schools and what they use for deposits. Page 23 talks about the generalized protocol. The school you're applying to should have it somewhere on their website too.

Would you happen to know how long ACOM gives you if they accept you?

I'm interviewing at ACOM the same day and I think I read somewhere that we have until the first week of December to accept.

omg until december 14th? Thats plenty of time! Oh phew, I thought it was like 2 weeks after(if accepted). I'm not saying I'll get accepted for sure or anything. Its just, thats a HUGE decision to make on 2 weeks imo

Yeah its plenty of time. 2 weeks would be ridiculous lol

I was reading from some threads that 2 weeks is what was given. Max I saw was 45 days which isn't December D:

I didn't see any for ACOM tho.

I'm trying to find where I read it but no luck so far! I'll let you know if I do.
