how long does it take to get back MCAT score?

sorry if its a dumb question. i was just trying to decide when exactly to take MCAT and apply. If you take it in april, how long does it take to find out your score? Do you get it back in a reasonable amount of time to decide if you are ready to apply that summer? thanks.

About two months.

April ==> June

August ==> October

If you take the April exam, you'll have sufficient time to decide whether or not you wish to apply. If you take the test in August, you won't get your score back till October, which will put you behind of thousands of applicants in the application process.

The AAMC is pushing for more computer-based testing in the future, which could get scores back quicker.
