How long does it take to receive the PTCB

"Hey, person you passed." letter?

Right after I took the test the computer said I passed.. An older thread from 2008 said it takes about a little less than a month... just wondering if that still rings true. Thank you!!

Really? The pharmacy tech license? In CA you get it notarized, finger prints then you give the CA pharmacy board money. >_> How long does it take?

P4Sci will probably respond with the right answer, but based on what I remember reading, it was like 8 weeks or so for CA.

For Texas, it took less than a month, and I didn't have to do any of that finger print malarcky. 🙂

Preest, errr, Pharm B is correct, it takes AT LEAST 8 weeks from the point in time when you finish your Live Scan, get the stupid notarized true copy, and send in your $50 smackers to the BoP that you will receive your "letter of registration as a pharmacy technician" along with thine license to practice pharmacy technicianing.

Texas > CA in a lot of ways unfortunately. CA bureaucracy is astounding.

For Florida it took me about a month to get my certificate in the mail.

They'll mail you your certificate, but you have to take additional steps to get your license. Go to your state's board of pharmacy for the directions and paperwork that you need to get fingerprinted, get a copy of your certificate notarized, and write another nice check 🙂 (or at least that's how it is in CA).

Honestly? If you have a grasp on high-school + college level algebra and brush up on some aspects of pharmacy law / customer service? About 4-6 hours.

Yup, it was pretty easy. Felt like my exam was 90% calculations !

I was so nervous for like 3 weeks and then soooo relieved when I passed......

someone said on this thread that it takes an instant for them to find the score? That wasn't always true. Before the PTCB put up instant results, the entire board of pharmacy technician certification were grading the exams. It was said so in the newsletter. Now it is a lot less work for those people and the recession probably made them stop doing that method. Now it is all in a computer....
