How long should a PS be??

I am a bit confused about how long my personal statement should be. Does anyone know? Mine is about 800 words now

i think its 4500 characters including spaces - app won't let you put in more than that

Yes, the limit is 4500 characters with spaces. My PS was only about 50 characters under and was a total of 750 words. I had to do a lot of trimming, only leaving what was essential, and keeping out anything excessively flowery.

Pretty much nailed it. 4500 characters with spaces and unless you are extremely crafty you'll need all 4500 of those characters! I think I had 10-15 left. You'll be doing many many drafts so first just get everything in there. AFTER THAT start the editing process and bring it down. If you're having issues with content there is a helpful thread here which lists a couple people who'll read you PS and offer advice. Good luck!

I used 4100 characters. I don't think it made a difference lol...
