Hi Everyone,

Just thinking about a few things...

What type of time frame could I expect to do pre-pod in? I understand that you need a year of chem, year of O-chem, year of physics, etc., but certainly you could do some of these in parallel correct?

Could it be done in 2-3 semesters?

Thanks in advance!

if you have your stuff together you could theoretically complete all the minimum requirements in 2 years.

the problem though, is that you wouldn't have completed the minimum 90 credit hours that the schools require.

A friend of mine during undergrad was going into chiro and did 90 credits in 2 years(including all the pre-reqs gen chem, orgo, physics ect.).

he did 18 credits a semester and 8-10 credits over the summer.

its a lot of work but definitely possible.

I did mine this way:
Started in January

Bio I and Chem I = 2nd Semester
Chem II = Summer
Bio II, Organic I and Physics I = 1st Semester
Anatomy = Winter Break
Physics II, Physiology and Biochem = 2nd Semester
Organic II = Summer

Applied in August.

I didnt take orgo lab. All students should contact their schools to see if biochem counts as organic credit. Most do this. Orgo lab sucks

Orgo lab sucks

LOL. Orgo Lab was the ONLY things I liked about Orgo.

I did mine the same way as Air Bud. Just use your summer semesters and you can finish up in about 18 months.

Too many other factors. some classes have prerequisites. For instance, you could not take physics w/o pre-cal. You could not take organic I w/o finishing inorganic. It all depends on if you work or have a family and kids. If you have other obligations, slow down and concentrate on learning the sciences (Will help on mcat which is needed to get into pod school). Take no more than 2 sciences a semester and get As instead of B or C. 2 factors are critical to acceptance, GPA and MCAT. Concentrate on this and you will be fine.

Semester 1
Bio I
Chem 1 (Generally need at least college algebra to take)

Semseter 2
Bio 2
Chem 2

Summer
Orgnaic I + lab
pre-cal I

Semester 4
organic 2 +lab
physics I

Semester 5
physics 2

Recommended classes along the way
A/P 1and 2
Biochemistry
Histology
Microbiology with virology
Cell/molecular biology
Immunology
