how long to wait for invites?

So now that the lovely Nov. 1 date has come--and gone-- How long should we obsessive email checkers continue to wait for interviews? 😳 I know its only been a few days, but another friend and I were just wondering when do we say okay, this seems to be it for interviews....and detach ourselves from the refresh button??? 😕

Depends on which field you are applying to. I know some of the more competetive specialties are just barely starting to send out invites.. Good luck.

hey flipflop,

just thought i'd put in my 2 cents. i waited about a week after dean's letters got sent out to hear from additional programs. then i spoke to some of my buddies who said to give the programs i was interested in a call and let them know you're interested... turns out that 2 of the programs i called had CHOSEN ME TO INTERVIEW BUT I HAD NEVER HEARD FROM THEM! i was really glad that i called since i would be 2 interviews shorter compared to where i am now since i was able to schedule my interviews over the phone since i had to catch the glitch!

again, this may not be true of peds (i'm doing anesthesia if you couldn't tell 🙂, but thought i'd respond anyway.
