How Many Chapters/Pages Does Each Test Have?

i heard 45 chapters from someone? please tell me this is false.

Nope, true, at least some of the time. Picture thick&chewy biomed coming at you through a 2 foot wide firehose with enough force to blow a hole through six feet of steel-reinforced concrete. Some people say it's easier than undergrad, though.

nice analogy lol. But 45 chapters? thats like an entire textbook for one test. The most i ever had on one test was 20 chapters for Cell Bio, and that was a final exam.

Our tests are once every two weeks, which is usually somewhere between 1000 to 2000 slides, or a stack of double sided printed notes about ~1" thick (I measure difficulty of "sections" in our curriculum based on the total thickness of my notes stack... Neuro is 5", Musculoskeletal is only 4"... Neuro must be harder!). 🙂

so do u memorize the slides or do u simply familiarize and grasp a concrete understanding so that you can identify the correct answer (since the tests are multiple choice right?) I usually outline chapters, and write things down to memorize them, i guess i cant do that anymore? thanks for the info/warning

p.s. oslo where do u go?

We do that or more a few times each semester. But keep in mind how many chapters you'll be tested on for step one of the boards-- all of them. Yes, that's all the chapters in Biochem, Anatomy, Embryo, Histology, Genetics, Immunology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Nutrition, Behavioral Science, Physiology, Epedemiology, OMM, Neuroanatomy.....etc. You'll need to know every chapter in every textbook for those 400 questions over 8 hours. So......45 chapters is a breeze 😀.

so how do u prepare for a test that has 45 chapters? not the boards im saying a test? I guess you dont outline the chapters correct?

Keep in mind that Step 1 of the boards IS a test. Just a long one, and arguably the most important of your career.

yeah but the S1 is like a final exam.(granted with 500 chapters on it) I think lafferty was asking about the regular tests.

As our anatomy professor so eloquently put it to us on the first day of class, "You've gotten used to takes sips of knowledge from a water fountain. We're about to open up a firehouse of information. You're job is to keep taking sips without getting your face blown off."
