Alright, lets have some fun.

We are approaching 5 months of internship.... how many dictations have you done so far?

We have to electronically authenticate all of our dictations so I know I have done exactly 128. Most of the of H&Ps I do are handwritten. They don't have to be dictated at all.

Yeah, I've done around that number of chart dictations so far too. Our chief residents are forever getting on us about dictating our charts. If we don't do them, it means extra charts automatically.

This doesn't answer the question actually, but the single most intelligent thing I did as an intern was to find out where the steno pool is that types up dictations and take them treats.

When I did it, they said that no one had ever ever done that before. After that, anything I wanted to get typed up in a hurry or in a special way or anything, I was gold with all of them.

The smartest thing I have ever done.

Ten years later, my wife is on the tennis court and introduces herself. When this one women heard her name, she said " Are you Dr. ###'s wife? We still talk about him bring treats." No one has done it since.
