Hey how many examples do you use for each prompt on the writing section? 2 examples and one counter example? Is that the general structure people go for? Or is one example and one counter example too short?

I do an analogy for the definition...
then one example, in depth with supporting evidence, quotes, facts and figures etc...
then one counter example again in depth with supporting evidence, facts and figures etc...
Then I synthesize both examples, and tie up the essay by referring back to the analogy I used in the first paragraph.

Judging from the samples on the AAMC website, it seems like one strong, well developed example is looked upon more favourably than several underdeveloped ones. It's just like a normal paper/essay. If you're going to include an example, you have to explain it and relate it back to the thesis. One thesis, example, counter-example and synthesis should be more than long enough.
