Do most dental schools require a second deposit at the beginning of June? I am wondering what the next big event will be to move the waitlist for June. In May, I guess it was the AADSAS revelation to schools which accepted dental students were holding more than one spot. Any ideas?

I just wanted to bump this thread up to see if there were any acceptances off any waitlists for 2007 for this month.

I am still waiting along with hundreds of other pre-dents. Hang in there, there is always a chance until it ends.

After reading threads from NYUSD, BU, Pitt, Case and others, it does not seem like the wait lists have moved. I am assuming that some of the waitlist alternates have been assigned some rank. Have any of those numbers changed?

some people are still holding spots at 2 or more schools. this is directly from the mouth of a dean at a dental school...

hang in there guys!

jb!🙂

I feel for you all...waitlisted at two schools and holding a spot. There is definately still a chance for movement!

Do any of these schools require a second deposit in the near future? I would think this would discourage some from holding on to more than one spot.

i'm pretty sure most schools have already collected their 2nd deposit. some schools are being fairly generous to those holding 2 spots by allowing them some time to make a decision. the specific school i talked to said that their d-day for those holding 2 spots is a couple weeks away.

don't you think that maybe the schools are waiting for the other schools to move people off their waitlist? It doesn't seem like it would be advantageous for a school to be the first to do this. They should all just pick a date and time to give offers and stop waiting (if my theory is correct). I spend WAY too much time thinking about this.

Yeah, like May 1st for example 😀

waitlistees.. do you mind sharing with us, future applicants, your stats? 😀

thanks. and goodluck to all of you guys! :luck:

Just got into UCSF yesterday. Hmmm...got some thinkin' to do now.😉

i'm still waiting/hoping/wishing/praying. 🙁

From looking at some of the threads, slots are beginning to open up. Just got called today and pulled of the waitlist from my #1 choice. At the same time, some future great dental student will be occupying my previous spot at Buffalo! I know he or she will be happy there!!

i just got pulled off the waitlist at my #1 choice, Maryland!! A spot will be opening up at NYU as soon as I receive my acceptance package from UMD!

Good luck, jB!🙂

Congrats JB on getting your #1 choice, it only took what 7 months to hear from them.
So it does go to show you can get in somewhere when you have pretty much given up. I know someone posted on the Temple site today about getting in today.

haha, i don't think i ever gave up!! i have been in contact with the dean of UMD on a bi-weekly basis since I received my waitlist letter in April. Persistence pays off.. especially with an applicant friendly school like Maryland!

Haha congrats I need to try this when I apply. Was it email contacts or phone calls?

both. i think it only helps with applicant friendly schools (maryland, pacific, arizona..). don't get me wrong--you will still need the stats, but being proactive never hurts!! after interviewing you will know the kinda schools i'm talking about.

Thats good to know. I honestly would have thought the dean would be tired of hearing from a specific person over and over. "Oh god not him again... Tell him I'm not here." lol

Has anyone heard anything lately? anything from UNLV or UCSF?

UCSF has been going down their alternate list. I am thinking down to about at least 20-25 maybe even further. Did they give you a number?
