Hey all,

I'm just wondering if certain volunteering hours are "too few" to report.
If you did something once a week over 4~5 months, and had about 30 hours, is that too few to report? 40? 50?

Any input would be great, thanks!

Don't make the decision based just on the number. Consider how well you can speak to what you experienced/learned in those 30/40/50 hours...if you think your activity description would just be fluff, its not worth including. If in 30/40/50 hours, you developed some skill that you genuinely think is worth sharing with the admissions committee....include it. You definitely will not find an absolute cutoff in hours for "worthwhile-ness"...its relative

All depends what is on the rest of your application. I have seen people with a catch all "other volunteering" that include several items of very few hours like less than 10

Could I say the same thing for, say, volunteering I did through the fraternity and just list the organizations that I did it with in the description?

I have heard from a former adcom I spoke to that combining hours into a catch all is not a good thing to do? Only acceptable if you were doing said hours through the same organization each time?
Thanks
