how many hours should i except to study during undergrad?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Eh, matters what classes.

But it can range from 2-10 depending on how easy you get the material and how gay your professor is. 😛

Point in case, my Bio teacher next semester. Gives a speech saying you need 5 hours minimum of studying or you will fail.

What the hell does a professor's sexual orientation have to do with anything?

Oh wait, I get it now. You meant it as an insult. *****. Grow up.

my rule of thumb is for all non pre-req classes do what needs to be done to get an "A"...
if it is a prereq class, study your arse off so:
1. you will hopefully end up with a 4.0 core GPA
2. be prepared when it comes mcat time so you will just be refreshing and polishing your test-taking skills...not re-learning alot of material...

damn, what school are you at. I wish my hours were like yours.

I typically pull 8 AM -2 AM days... give or take 2-3 hours for food/exercise.

I work all Sunday and sometimes Sat nights.

18 credit hours

Seriously? I don't study this much and I'm in my second year in med school.

Hey guys awesome site you guys have here. I will be entering first year university this fall and was wondering if anybody could ballpark the amount of studying required to achieve a very solid GPA(i do under people have different abilities so times may vary)? I understand university is much different from high school so i don't want to be shocked when I first start. Thanks for your time guys.

This is not a good question.

You don't indicate which school you are going to. There are some easy schools, and there are some that are very hard(ie. Ivy league schools)

Also - you must take into consideration that you control the course load.
A 12 credit semester is much different than a 18 credit semester.

If you excelled in High school, a lot of first year level classes will be review.

My study habits have not changed, in my transition from high school to college. My college is fairly easy. I am getting similar grades.
