Not trying to create more neuroticism than already exists (believe me the whole process has me on edge), or give anyone a forum to just flex. I'm genuinely curious as it's hard to gauge where most stand through various threads or reddit. The number will change over time so I only was going to leave the poll open for a week, and editable if you hopefully get more invites this week! Obviously it's a raw number, and having the average number of schools everyone applied to would be useful, so take the results with a grain of salt.

Multiple grains of salt taken lmao. So far, the majority have 5 IIs or more. SDN applicants too strong
Another possibility is sampling bias, meaning those with a higher number of IIs will be more likely to respond. Either way, I don't think this is even close to being representative of the number of IIs that most applicants have.

I think we can all agree that there are many confounding variables to this data (e.g. residency, school list, URM/ORM, # of schools applied to, trad/non-trad status, sampling bias - on several levels, including participant and non-randomization), but I'll still admit, it's definitely interesting to know how far along everyone is in the cycle.

Better question...how many holds?

I currently have 1 state MD II, an MD hold, and 3 DO holds :cyclops: still have 23 schools to hear back from

0 so far, submitted secondaries in mid-late August.

Last year, submitted in early July:
1 in July (low yield school)
1 in August (T20)
1 in October (low yield school)
1 in February (state school)

Really hoping my lack of success this year so far with pulling II's is just a matter of needing to wait. Submitting late because of being on 4 waitlists was a big mistake especially with the processing delays this year..

Is this your fourth cycle?

Complete july-aug at 26 schools, 2 II's (1 T10, 1 mid tier) in September, nothing since except for pre-II r's

I've only gotten two MD interviews, but am planning on cancelling the second one because I already got an A from the first school.

Of course more interviews is better, but it really only takes one!

Every situation is different. I applied to one school. One II and one acceptance. That’s all you need!

CA ORM, applied to 15 schools. 4 II’s in a flurry in September, radio silence afterwards (apart from two R’s). Maybe if I had applied to more schools I’d have more II’s but I’m hopeful.

Does this count include DO and MD, or MD only? 12 II, 9 DO, 3 MD. Either way, there's still lots of time to get in and it still only takes one!
