Just curious how many interviews you currently have and how many you plan to go on? Do you have a set number? I planned to do no more than 15 but I'm still waiting to hear from some places I'm really interested in. Anyone planning on giving up interviews are certain programs as more desirable ones come in? Or will you just take them all as they come?

I'm worried about this as well. I applied to tons of programs, 28, since I didn't know where I wanted to end up. I've heard back from 15 places, but am still waiting to hear from 6 programs that I really like. I've canceled 3, and have shuffled a couple to January, anticipating canceling them as well. It's hard to know how to prioritize which programs get the axe. Do you go by reputation? Location? I don't want to do more than 15 either. Even that many makes for a full and expensive winter!

I have heard back from 16 places with 15 interviews scheduled. I am waiting to hear back from 6 that I am really interested in. I may cancel some interviews if I really get the ones I want.

I applied to 22 programs and have heard back from 13 (one rejection) and so far scheduled 12. however I too am waiting from about 5 programs i'm really interested in. also running out of available dates for interviews. i guess i also will cancel some if i end up hearing from some of those 5 programs.

I applied to 30: So far 21 interview offers, scheduled 17, rescheduled 1, waiting to hear from 2 more programs that I am strongly considering, not too concerned about the others. Clearly that's a ridiculous number to interview at so I am going to have to cancel some.

I'm aiming for 10-12. Definitely no more than 15. So many decisions on which to cancel!! I heard a few really competitive applicants scrambled last year because they only ranked the top tier programs, so I'll keep a few of the lower tier ones that are local (to save $$) to be safe. :luck:

I applied to 30. Have 13 scheduled. Only 2 programs that I would consider canceling (but doubt that I would). I think I applied to too many but I wanted to be comfortable. I have the feeling I will do up to 20 but I'm already stressing about financing all the travel/hotel. 🙁 Maybe we should start a thread on money saving ways to get through this process!

My plan is to go to less than 10 interviews.

I've got 11 at this point and plan on cancelling 3-4 of them as more roll in. Got 2 rejections and applied to a total of 30 programs.
