Lets get a shout out for us ppl still working on amcas!
Woo wooo!
Woo wooo!

I don't want to rush and make mistakes. And I think that I want to do everything all at once and be done with it.
_______
Making a school map, that's an interesting idea, JWLuiza.
(I know what I'm doing in my spare time...)
the good thing is it is still pretty early and a large majority of applicants have not submitted yet. make sure not to get a skewed view of reality with SDN
*gasp* not everyone has a 4.0 40R mcat and has filled out all their secondaries already? I sure hope for everyone's sake that SDN does not accurately reflect the applicant pool.

lol I do have to remind myself that SDN isnt a representative subpopulation of the applicant pool 😛
As for the PS, I'm all done, but 400 characters over, and I cant figure out what to cut![]()
need hellp?
Keep this in mind:
When I ran the Boston Marathon in '89, I had a game plan and knew I was ready. There were probably 200 guys that flew past me in the first mile, but I stuck to my pace.
Over the next two hours, I passed almost all of those gunners with a smile on my face. They hit it hard early, but lacked the preperation to see it through.
A lot of these showboats that are submitting their apps this summer, simply put, won't be able to tolerate the lactic acid buildup that's associated with something like the Boston Marathon.
Like that svelte African man who wins all of the marathons, those of us who will be submitting late this cycle can take pride in knowing that we are genetically predisposed, per se, to winning this thing.
We have the, pardon my colloquialism, the greater alanine aminotransferase, h-LDH, and adenylate kinase concentrations that will allow us to storm past these d-bags as they succumb to low sarcoplasmic pH.
As the lithe African marathoner, submit when you're ready, and submit proudly.

i realize that iam screw. So after some major editing and mutilation i am down to 5292. Believe me, there are a lot of ways to say a sentence and u can cut down in the adjetives too, try using that.We have the, pardon my colloquialism, the greater alanine aminotransferase, h-LDH, and adenylate kinase concentrations that will allow us to storm past these d-bags as they succumb to low sarcoplasmic pH.

Youre still ok if you havent. Come end of July/August, then feel free to start having anxiety attacks

Uncalled for. No one has said "OMG WTF, why aren't you submitted yet". Does it help to be early? Yes.
I kind of have to wait to submit...I have a little over another month of study in Russia and I don't want to get an interview date [extreme optimism] for when I'm not in the country.
And I'm still waiting to hear from people who are proofing/murdering my PS. Booooo.
I am planning to submit in mind July. Is this too late in the cycle? I am also planning to submit all my secondaries by the end of August. Will this put me at a disadvantage for applying too late? If not, what's considered as too late?

, guys, with completing your AMCAS.I'm officially out of the club. Good luck, guys, with completing your AMCAS.
I finally submitted July 1st...woohoo!
Yay. Let the fun begin. I think you'll see closer to a 15 BD2V, so 7/21 to 7/22 if they max out at 15 business days on average like they did last year. So you'll def. have a few completed in August.
i assume bd2v stands for business days to verify? and is it true that it's taking up to 6 weeks to verify like they're saying on the amcas website?
when should i shoot for in order to get my app in "early"? or is it too late for that already? im pretty much done but sorta hoping to have some people read over the stuff before i submit it.
Yes, it can take up to six weeks if there are issues. Right now it's taking about 11 Business days for those who submitted mid-June. In contrast, it was taking 5 or 6 Business days for last year's cycle. I would assume this means a higher # of applications. It wasn't till mid-July last year that we saw the turnaround hit consistently above 11, so the timetable has moved up this year.
Looking at last years numbers, it seemed to peak at about 20 business days in August.
Ok, so with all that said: Submit ASAP. But submit when you are comfortable with your PS and activities. I think you'll be on the leading edge of "normal" if you submit soon.
My advice was more for those waiting on MCAT scores... $130 for about a month lead time might be worth it...
Definite good plan to ensure your PS is well written. Just don't delay 🙂
Glad you found the map idea interesting.
Maybe they mean submitting AMCAS w/one school before the MCAT gets back and then adding schools later? I'm pretty darn sure you can't pay to get the MCAT back early.
I finally submitted today. Be careful, I had people look at mine and I still found mistakes. They were minor but who knows. Now on to secondaries. Isn't there a thread for those?
