How many other LORs with a committee letter?

In general how do LORs work if you send a committee letter? Will I be needing 3 science LORs along with my committee letter? Is there a list of LOR requirements for each school? I vaguely remember seeing that some where on here.

I'm not sure where the list of LOEs is. But you should check individual school requirements anyway.

If you do a committee letter, you only have the option of one additional individual letter.

Don't quote me on this, but it is generally required to submit three LoRs (usually from two science professors and a dentist) OR a committee letter. So a committee letter is all you need. As for the list of LoR requirements, use "search" function.

I think it's 3 or 4 personal letters OR 1 committee letter

This is what the ADEA AADSAS General Instruction Booklet says:

"Applicants may submit a maximum of four individual Letters of Evaluation or one Committee Letter/Report plus the option of one additional individual letter."

And this is what's on the actual application:

"List each of your evaluators (limit 4 individual or 1 committee with 1 optional individual letter)."

Thanks everyone! Would it better to submit a science professor's LOR for the optional one?

I think it depends what letters you used in the committee letter; if you already used a few science LORs the additional may be better as a dentist or a boss. If you already used a good variety in your committee letter I would not worry about the other letter unless you think it will be very strong.

I had to submit three letters for the committee (2 science and one nonscience). I was going to evaluate who would have written the best letter and would have submitted that. Is it pointless to do that? Should I look for someone else? Would a dentist look better?

Every institution is different I believe. My institution allows me to send 6 letters in addition to the committee letter. I've heard that 2 science, 1 non-science, and 1 dentist is most appropriate though.
