Nontrad working full time in life science for 5 years post grad. How many postbacc credits should I aim for? Also, I’m working full time, so the less time I spend on classes, the more time I can spend prepping for the MCAT. Here’s my GPA so far.

uGPA: 3.23
gradGPA: 3.86
Overall scienceGPA: ~3.36

Planning on taking mostly upper division bio, although I’m a bit limited in that from both my senior year and masters program I have already taken most of the common upper division bio (ie. Molecular bio, immunology, molecular genetics, etc.) so recommendations on good post bacc classes to take are also welcomed! Thanks!

Microbiology, physiology, or other topics related to human infectious diseases that interest you

Organic + lab and physics + lab
Have you had a stats class and 1 semester of biochemistry?
Yes, yes, yes, and yes lol. I got pretty much all B’s in my prereqs (took them all freshman and sophomore year and didn’t care about school). But all of my upper division bio are A’s. I’m trying to figure out what else to take, but I’m limited on bio, so maybe I could take upper level chem courses?

How about neuroscience, pharmacology, anything related to pathology, medical terminology, Immunology, the biology of addiction, neurobiology, anatomy, comparative anatomy, vertebrate Anatomy,?

For a good reinvention postdoc spread, I recommend around 30ish credits.

As of right now, you're fine for any do school, including mine.

Even though I’ve been out of school for 5 years? What should be the minimum amount of credits I take to be somewhat competitive for a DO school? I was going to do 2 years of post bacc and full time work, but if I can do 1 semester of post bacc and 1 semester of MCAT prep then apply, I might do that just to get in sooner

As microbiology was mentioned, if you have a program that offers virology, that would be great.

30 hours is generally recommended. Once you exhaust this option, you will probably need to consider an SMP.
My masters was in micro and I took a few virology courses! What do you mean virology program?
