For those of you who already took the DAT and scored in the 20's or in the 90th percentile in any section, how many questions do you think you missed? I'm asking because there are a number of people who scored 99%+ and I was curious whether you think you got every single question right in a specific question or just missed one. I just want a guess, considering no one knows for sure.

Can you please put it in the following format: section, score, percentile, number wrong.

Section Score % Number Wrong

lol, I'll give it my best guess! 🙂

PAT 20 95.5% (uhh.. maybe 15 out of 90 wrong?)
QR 20 91.2% (hmm.. probably between 4 and 8 out of 40 wrong?)
RC 29 100% (0 wrong)
Bio 28 100% (0 wrong)
GC 27 100% (0 wrong)
OC 23 97.1% (2 wrong out of 30, I'm pretty sure. Two on the same basic topic I forgot about 😳 )
TS 29 100% (2 out of 90 wrong)
AA 25 100% (let's see.. between 6 to 10 of the academic subject Q's wrong, if my guesses are anywhere near reality!)

Hope this helps you

For whatever its worth:

PAT 22 98.9, I would say 10 maybe
QR 17 70.8 TOO MANY! Can't say really
RC 23 95.3 5 or 6
BIO 20 94.5 3-5 range
GCM 23 96.4 3-4
OCM 23 97.1 3-4

True that the Kaplan book has a conversion table for your standard score, but I was curious between the correlation between the percentile and questions missed. There are a number of people who are getting a 100% in a section with scores anywhere between 22-29, and was wondering if they really think they didn't miss anything or not.

this is a good question, because the test is, well, on a curve. factored into your score (to what degree, i don't know) is how well you did compared to those also taking the test...that month? (i haven't yet figured out what period of time the results are measured in...the lat 12 months, maybe?)

I understand the difference between percents and percentiles.....but how can you not miss any questions on a section and get a 27? Dont get me wrong, 27 is an awesome score, but how can that not be a 30?

I dont know if there is really a 30, I got 100% in Gchem, and it was a 29. 🙄

Because 100% does not always mean 30/30.

Because it was listed at 100% (percentile), I assume that means I got all the questions right, and the scale for my test put me at a 27. Of course, that may not be true, but I'll never know...

Yes, I think that is the case 🙂 Your avatar is great, armorshell!

I believe armorshell is right about how you could be 100% on a section and receive a score that's not a perfect 30. The percentile simply compares how you did to others, it has no significant correlation between your standard score. Hence why some people can get a 25 and be in the 100-percentile and someone else who has a different test with different questions and gets a 28 can also be in the 100-percentile. It all depends on the questions you get on your test and how others did on those same questions.

Based on the Kaplan book, I'd guess that people over 25 and under 30 probably missed one or two questions to get to that point.

on the ADA sample test, at the bottom, they have a conversion table. i think it's pretty up to date as well
