How many times is too many times to have taken the DAT? Do schools look at that? Is it good or bad. How will they look at it?

I know a guy who have taken it 3 times. The last three times are in the same year (2002). 🙁

The DAT book says "A candidate can apply and retake the test as many times as the candidate wishes"..."the results of the 4 most recent DAT's are released on the official transcript of scores and forwarded to dental schools"

I mean I know the guy who has taken it 4 times and the last 3 times were in the same year of 2002😛

you can take it as many times as you want you just have to wait three months in between attempts. However I think I read on some dental school webpages that they prefer you only take it 2 times. However I dont know how valid that statement is. You may want to check with the individual dental schools you are interested in.

savvysearch is right.
You can take the DAT as many times as you wish. I took it 4 times before getting accepted. None of the schools i interviewed with cared how many times i took it.
