So..i just took the dats in june and need to retake it and i'm not sure if I would be ready after my 90 days...in mid sept. But I do not want to wait any longer than that because then I feel I am already at a disadvantage bc schools wont get my scores until early oct. So should I take it if I am kind of ready..or would you say not take it and study more and then apply for the next cycle? I would take it in sept regardless...but is taking the DAT 3 times looked down upon?? Thanks for any help!

That's a hard call. how far ahead to you have to schedule the test? Can you wait and see how prepared you feel? Or if you have to schedule it now, maybe you can just cancel if the time is close and you feel unprepared. Either way, I'd say if the time comes and you are sure you are underprepared, don't take it.

(btw - what do you mean by "kind of prepared?" 19s? 16s?)

But that being said, 3 months is a good amount of time, especially if you've already been studying for the 1st time. Why don't you think it will be enough time? Are you going to be excessively busy with school or work or something?
If you only have a normal load now, I'd say just study your butt off for the next 3 month!!

yea i think id be fine if i did study for the whole 3 months...but 1 week is gone...i needed to relax and i was depressed...and i will be out of the country for 3 weeks where i know i will get very little studying done. I will only take it if i am seriously ready.
But i really want to know if taking the dat 3 times is looked down upon even if the third set of scores are good (like in the low 20's)????????
