My stats are simply a 3.4 GPA over 6 years undergrad (averaging 15 units a semester during that time) and a 42 MCAT. No, you didn't misread that. It really was a 42.

And please, don't ask why I was in college for 6 years. It's a long story. I just need an answer to my question.

People with 3.4 GPA/42 MCAT have a 70ish percent chance of getting into medical school. Does anyone know how much I can improve my chances by doing a post-bacc program?

With a 42, you have a good chance. Are you applying this cycle? If not, you can always take a few post-bacc courses on your own this upcoming term, ace them, and continue to take them until you gain acceptance; that is if you want to really secure a spot.

Also, what are your EC's like? LORs?

Nonetheless, you nailed the MCAT. I mean almost one of a kind nailed it, haha. So yes I think you have a good chance with that 3.4 without post-bacc as long as the rest of you looks good.

A 3.4 is probably not worth doing a postbac for. It is definitely on the lower end of MD accepts, but doing a postbac will not significantly raise your GPA to warrant the money and time you put into it.

The 42 will get you noticed at a lot of places. Provided you have a compelling story about what you have done since being out of college, I would say you have a good shot at getting several interviews.
